Windows 7, Windows Seven, Windows Vista Upgrade

Well, tomorrow is the official release date of the latest Microsoft Operating System, called.... you guessed it, Windows 7. Now being that this is merely Microsoft Vista, totaly finished and fixed, Microsoft as always will require you to pay for the latest and greatest version of their operating systems.

However if you were one of the lucky few million people that purchased a computer after June 26, 2009 you may qualify for a free upgrade to the newest operating system. Here are the details below from Microsoft's official website for qualification.

* Essential details: When you buy Windows Vista Home Premium, Business, or Ultimate either as a packaged product or on a qualifying PC you can get a comparable upgrade version of Windows 7 after it's generally available on October 22, 2009. Qualifying PCs, offer details, and product delivery methods will vary by manufacturer, so check their sites for specifics. If you buy a packaged copy of Windows Vista, you can order your upgrade from Microsoft. The Windows 7 Upgrade Option program runs from June 26, 2009 through January 31, 2010. However, individual PC manufacturers may choose to offer the option for a shorter period. For full details, see the FAQ.

Of course for thos unlucky others that don't fall into the Lucky category, look to pay anywhere from $119 and up for the various different upgrade versions available.

I won't be running to get this upgrade for any of my 5 computers and laptops and I don't recommend that you go out and get it either. Although there are several new upgrades and updates and all that stuff, I don't think that it is worth the money at the moment, being that vista is only about 3 years new.

Of course the decision is up to you, and if you are interested in the upgrade or purchase of the New Windows 7, than all I can say is follow the link below and you can get the best deal around as I have purchased several for my clients and I am a bargain hunter so no need to waste your time trying to find the best price around, I did the leg work for you.

Of course as with any software program, make sure that your computer meets or exceeds the minimum system requirements for running the program. If you have any questions please feel free to post them and I will be more than happy to answer them.

You can follow the information below to the best deal we were able to find on Windows 7 or you can search for it online yourself or pay retail at locations like Bestbuy or other Computer Retailers.

Once there, simply click on the link on the top right of the page that says Newegg. Once there search for Windows 7 and purchase the
"Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Anytime Upgrade from from W7 Starter - Retail" version.

Halo Cloud, Moscow Cloud

I was checking the latest news and ran into this crazy video of a Halo Cloud (also called Moscow Cloud), that appeared in, you guessed it "Moscow". It does appear to have a UFO appearance to it, and it is possible as I am a believer.

However, there seems to be a logical explanation of it as usual. Although it would be easy to construe it into either side of the spectrum, how about just appreciating the video for pure beauty.

Finally, if these Halo Cloud/UFO's start appearing all over the place, than I am digging my self as deep as I can into a hole until I feel safe.

What is Malware

Malware is a name derived from the two terms, Malicious Software.  As the name states, it is malicious in nature and is one of the most common forms of software designed to attack a computer in a multitude of ways.

Malware is in fact a type of Virus that infects your computer without your consent and most of the time without your knowledge.  Most antivirus programs in fact are unable to detect Malware so in turn it is much easier to be infected.  The purpose of this type of software is to disable your computer, steal personal information, redirect your computer to sites which are very harmful to your computer as well as a countless other damaging effects that make using your computer nothing more than a Pain In The Butt.

For businesses Malware can be very costly, disruptive, and a huge threat to consumers private information, as described below, this is a very short definition.
"The prevalence of malware as a vehicle for organized Internet crime, along with the general inability of traditional anti-malware protection platforms to protect against the continuous stream of unique and newly produced professional malware, has seen the adoption of a new mindset for businesses operating on the Internet - the acknowledgment that some sizable percentage of Internet customers will always be infected for some reason or other, and that they need to continue doing business with infected customers. The result is a greater emphasis on back-office systems designed to spot fraudulent activities associated with advanced malware operating on customers computers".  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malware

Malware has many faces, however the most important one in my personal opinion is that it is widely spread, very easy to infect your computer, and can be a host of many harmful other problems to your computer such as viruses & spyware.  Malware is known to also be a culprit in the evergrowing IDENTITY THEFT epedemic and can prove to be extremley damaging to your personal life, your credit & much more.

There are a multitude of Malware For Profit programs out their as well which infect your computer and than take you to a site offering to solve your problems by way of selling you a software program to fix your infections.  Unfortunately, if you have been directed to any site that states your computer is infected with a number of viruses or any message that is similar, in fact your computer has just been redirected and infected and the program they are trying to have you pay for and download is a fake program and will actualy infect your computer.

Most of us spend an average of $100 a year to purchase antivirus programs and related programs to protect our computers.  However a majority of them fall short of being able to detect Malware and the websites which harbor them.  There is no program out there that is 100% effective and most of the large antivirus programs such as (Norto, or Macfee) are an after the fact type of protection.  If you have had any of these programs and have been infected, you know that they charge you additional fees to remove certain viruse, malware & spyware from your computers, on top of the yearly fees that they charge.  Although they can be effective to a certain degree, again there is no 100% effective software, nor will there ever be due to the nature of Viruses & Malware, the Anti-Virus company's are always one step behind the culprits and have to create fixes for the newly created problems.

So either way you look at it, if you are a avid computer user the chances of you getting infected these days by Malware is probably very high.  You might be asking yourself what you could do at the moment, and I don't blame you.  I am not trying to scare you, or have you cancel your Anti-Virus subscriptions, rather trying to educate you by way of personal knowledge & experience.  So heed the warnings & recommendations below.

If you cruise the internet like I do on a daily basis these are the precautions you need to take in order to protect your computer, your personal files & information, and most importantly your Identity.

1- Download or Purchase a Internet Security Program that offers real time protection, here are a couple that I as well as many other professionals recommend, and you can go to the following site before hand and read Professional reviews as well as consumer reviews.  I also highly recommend the site below for reviews on anything technology related, I have used their site for almost 10 years now and live and operate my Computer Services business by their reviews.
http://reviews.cnet.com/

http://download.cnet.com/2701-2023_4-6-1.html?tag=rb_shell;prefoot

2- Make sure to do the following on your computer if it already has not been done so, Enable Your Firewall, Enable Phishing Filter, Make Sure to do Antivirus Updates Daily, Enable or Install a Anti-Malware program on your computer as well as a Anti-Spyware program.

3- Be very careful and vigilant about the sites you visit, the things you download and any and all email attachments that you download.  Also make sure to have a normal schedule where you run your antivirus programs and all other mentioned programs.

If you have any questions, comments, or need any help please feel free to contact me and I would be more than happy to help.

How to fix your computer

I have my own business where I offer my clients all sorts of Computer Services, Printing, Duplication, and various other services and products. I am the go to guy for all of their technology and related needs. However I have always been there to assist them with anything they need, recently I have been trying to impower them so that they can resolve certain issues themselves so that they don't need to have me come to their office or home to provide my services.

One of the most effective ways for fixing your computer is to first find out the root problem. Of course this is much easier said then done sometimes, but most people never try because either they are not sure how to, or they are worried that they will make the problem worse. Well, I can honestly say that there is only so much damage one can do to a computer.

The first thing to do once you realize that you have a problem, is to immediately backup any and all documents, pictures, and programs that you don't want to lose. If you don't think that you have a way of doing this, more than likely you are mistaken.
1- If you have a CD/DVD burner, you can copy all of your information on a CD or DVD disc.
2- If you have an external hard drive, you can copy all your information on to that.
3- If you have a jump drive/flas drive, you can copy all your information on to that.

If you don't have any of those items on your computer, then you will have to purchase one of them to backup your things. There are retail stores as well as trusted online stores where you can purchase any of the three items mentioned for very reasonable prices. If you want the best source for any of the 3 items above, or if you simply want to purchase anything technology related, just feel free to drop me a line or email me directly at, murat@digitizeddocuments.com.

Now once you backup your files and folders, you are ready to spend some time to figure out what is going on with your computer. The steps I will provide below are fairly standard procedures, so if you have not done these before, feel free to do so in order to make your computer run more efficiently.

1- Delete all of your cookies and temporary internet files. There are several ways to do this, I will provide the easiest. Go to the control panel, then click on Internet Options. In the first tab, there should be a delete cookies, delete temporary files option (depending on your version of microsoft windows, there might be minor differences). Just make sure not to delete your stored passwords and login information.

3- Go to the My Computer shortcut, once in there, right click on your C: Drive and click properties. Then click the Clean Disc option.

4- Once that is done, go to the My Computer shortcut, once in there, right click on your C: Drive and click properties. Once in properties, go to the Tools tab, and choose the Error Checking option. more than likely it will say it can't run right now, would you like to have it run next time you restart. Click yes, and then restart your computer.
This process can take a little while, especially if you have never run it.

5- Once you have done all that, then it is time to Defrag your har drive, if you have not ever done since, then be ready to have you computer run for 3-10 hours, sometimes even longer. What this will do is re-arrange all of your documents and such and put it into a logical order for the hard drive to operate allot faster and more efficiently (Don't worry its not going to move any of your physical stuff around).

These are 5 steps to take to get your computer running, fixing problems, as well making you more comfortable with your computer. If you have any questions, comments, or need any of our services, please feel free to contact me directly on this blog or thru my website at.

How To Speed Up Your Computer

There are many ways to speed up one's computer. Although different computers are configured in different ways and different hardware and software in your computer will have an effect on the overall perfomance of your computer, there are ways to speed up any computer regardless of these factors.

1- When you are on the internet, your computer automatically is configured to accept (cookies, temporary internet files, and certain programs). You can deleted a majority of these files in an easy manner to speed up your internet.

Go to the control panel from the start menu, then go to internet options. In the general tab, choose the delete cookies option. Also delete your temporary internet files (but be careful, if you are the type of person who has all of your usernames and passwords save, just delete the cookies).

2- In order to speed up your computer in general, make sure to go to the control panel, and go to Add/remove programs. Delete all the programs that you no longer use.

3- You can also download and try the program below and this is proven to improve your overall system performance, fix problems that you might have with your computer, and also makes your computer run allot more efficiently. Although it is about $30, it is well worth it, and if you don't like it for whatever reason, there is a 30 day money back guarantee (unlinke any software you would purchase at a retail location, as you can't return software programs).

4- The final way to speed up your computer is one of the easiest and least expensive. It is a Memory upgrade for your computer. With the prices of memory being relateivley inexpensive, you can easily double the size of memory in your system for as little as $40. If you want or need to get this done, simply contact me and tell me the model of your computer, and I will find you the correct memory for your computer at the least expensive price and will forward you the information.

Beware of Online Scams

There are millions of scams out there and twice as many scammers. Don't be fooled in by things that seem too good to be true, as 99% of the time they are.

Make sure you know who you are doing business with, whom you provide your personal information to, and exactly what you are signing up for.

I recently had a friend that had thousands of dollars charged to his credit card because of a simple error he made. He provided his credit card to a 3rd party website in order to purhcase an electronic good online. He thought that his information would be safe as the site appeared to be legitimate.

However shortly after making his purchase, he never received the goods, and was charged multiple times, by various merchants all through out Europe. He is lucky because his credit card company has protection against things of this nature, but that does not change the fact.

1. So, make sure that you always call and speak to someone from the website you are about to make a purchase from. Ask them as many questions as you would like. For instance, ask them where they are located from. Whether or not they are the direct seller of the item, or if they are just a 3rd party. And make sure to get a valid Business name and address from them. Also ask for the persons name that you are talking to.

2- Try to avoid using your debit cards online for purchases, as if they get their hands on that, it is allot harder to resolve with your bank, and you can be out of your money for months (I know this from personal experience).

3- Finally, try to be vigilant when making purchases online, make sure the site has some sort of security emblem on it, such as Verisign, or even Paypal. And be sure to do research on the website before making any purchase at all. Simply check the site's authenticity via search engines, and read user reviews.

If you have any questions about this matter, or want me to check out a webpage for you, please leave me a post and I will do so.

My First Submission.

In today's fast paced world, technology is the front runner in every aspect of our lives. I am the type of person that is always looking to improve my life with the technology that is around me on a day to day basis. Being that I have my own company that provides computer services, printing services, and technology consulting, I have to be on top of allot of things.

Recently, I have had an influx of clients who call me for Virus/Malware related issues. As with anything, with time these viruses and malware have become smarter and ever more dangerous (in the sense of danger to your computer and personal information). These days, you cannot afford to be unprotected, and if you are like a majority of my new clients, the damage has already been done.

So, in order to protect you lucky people who have not been infected yet, I am going to give you a couple of ways in which you can protect yourself before you become victim to the growing attacks by hackers and viruses.

1- If you don't have an antivirus program installed on your computer, do so right now. Whether you go to your local technology store, or download it from the internet, do it immediately. (But beware, just because you have an antivirus program or firewall does not mean that you are fully protected!). Try this link, they give you a 30 day money back guarantee
http://b9b9efzgdfqweuk9gy49280jt8.hop.clickbank.net
Or you can go to, www.download.com, and get a decent free antivirus program.
You also have to be very carfeul with allot of other things, such as:
A) When downloading attachments and files from emails, make sure to have your antivirus
program scan them.
B) Be careful what websites and P2P sites you download from, make sure that they are
trusted sites ( if you would like to download anything specific, email me and I will give you
links to some specific sites)

2- Make sure that if you are using a Windows based system, that you have your firewall enabled, or have a firewall program installed outside of the one that comes with Windows.
In order to do this, you need to go to the control panel, and towards the bottom of the control pane, go to the windows firewall option, and make sure that it is turned on. This will protect your computer to a certain degree, but if it is turned off, make sure to turn it on immediately, and check it every now and then, to make sure that it has not been turned off by a virus, malware, or a hacker.

3- Finally, make sure to create a backup of all of your critical documents. I have had way too many clients lose years worth of information that we could not recover and they did not have a backup of anything. Don't let this happen to you. There are tons of easy to use programs out there that you can either purchase at retail stores, or download online. They are worth every penny. Because even if you are protected agains viruses and such, your hard drive could crash without any warning, and that is even harder to retrieve information from .
Try this one out, I use it and so do most of my clients, it is called Final Sync, a very easy and useful program, http://968e2gvheqjuaul1nab82psy1-.hop.clickbank.net/

Thank you for your time and support. If you have any questions related to this topic, feel free to email me directly at murat@digitizeddocuments.com

Hello to all

The handsome guy to the left is me. I have been working on computer systems & technology in general for almost 10 years now. I have a small business based in South Florida where I provide various technology related services to my client base. I truly enjoy technology and try to make it enjoyable to my clients, family, friends, and even total strangers. I am very good at what I do, and for this reason, I have been told that I need to start my own blog. At first I was against the idea, just because it can be a time consuming process, and at the moment, all of my time is dedicated to trying to pay the bills.
However, several of my clients said that it will only help me grow my business, especially if I were to offer a blog where anyone can come and post questions about Computers & Technology in general. So here I am.
I hope that I will be able to help you out with your questions and concerns. I will make my best effort possible to write only useful and helpful information as I don't want to wast anyone's time, and being that allot of us don't have much of it to spare these days, I will make it a point to have only relevant information that will be useful to everyone that ends up reading it.
I invite any and all comments and questions and will do my best to get back to them right away. I do also ask that you refrain from posting anything negative, explicit, and non relevant. My purpose for doing this is to provide the reader with content that is useful. Finaly, I would appreciate it if you would also provide me your email address so that I can send my updates to you automatically and answer any questions and possibly post it to my blog.
